Three ways to work together

I help teams build biomedical AI they can defend: interpretable models, honest validation, and the standards that say when to trust an output.

Services

Each one stands alone. Most teams start with the first or the second.

Advisory and retainers

Standing access to a second opinion.

A recurring block of time for your team each month: study design review, model critique, reading results, and the calls where somebody has to say out loud whether a number is real.

  • Design review
  • Model critique
  • Async plus calls

Monthly retainer, fixed hours, three month minimum.

Deep audits

A hard look at one model, pipeline, or claim.

Fixed scope, fixed fee. I take apart the thing that has to hold up: leakage, batch effects, validation design, interpretability, and whether the reported performance survives contact with new data. You get a written report, findings ranked by what they cost you.

  • Leakage and bias
  • Validation design
  • Written report

Two to six weeks, quoted after the intro call.

Frameworks and toolkits

The audit, turned into something you run without me.

I build the reusable version: evaluation harnesses, benchmark sets, reproducible pipelines, and the written standards that make a result defensible to a reviewer or a regulator. Yours to keep and extend.

  • Evaluation harness
  • Benchmarks
  • Reproducible pipelines

Project based, usually scoped out of an audit.

How it works

1

Thirty minute call

You describe the problem. I say whether I am the right person and what it would take. No charge, no deck.

2

Scope and quote

A short written proposal: what I will do, what you get, what it costs, when it lands. You approve it before anything starts.

3

Work and handover

Progress in writing as it happens, not silence followed by a report. Everything built is documented and handed over.

I take a small number of engagements alongside my research position, and outside work is cleared through my institution’s conflict of interest process before it begins. If the fit is wrong I will say so on the call and point you somewhere better.

The more of this you fill in, the more useful the first call is.

What makes a brief useful

  • The decision at stakeWhat changes once you know the answer.
  • The dataModality, rough scale, and whether I would need access.
  • The deadlineA grant, a submission, a board meeting, a release.
  • Who else is involvedWho I would work with, and who signs off.

Nothing confidential in a first email, please. Once we are talking I am glad to sign an NDA before anything sensitive changes hands. Prefer plain email? Write to me directly.
